Stripe alternative

Had problems with Stripe? Whop gets you back online.

Stripe is a great processor if you have a low-risk brand with an account active for years. But if you're a dropshipper and they banned you (chargeback rate, high-risk category, account under review), you have only one problem: get back online ASAP. Whop accepts the categories Stripe rejects, and WooshPayment gives you the branded checkout on top of Whop in guided setup.

Which to use when

Better for: WooshPayment + Whop

Dropshippers banned or limited by Stripe / Shopify Payments / Airwallex, founders who want to start with a high-risk-friendly processor to avoid the 60-day ban risk, agencies managing dropshipping client stores. guided onboarding, branded checkout included.

Better for: Stripe diretto

Low-risk premium DTC brands with an active and balanced Stripe account (chargeback rate < 0.7%), marketplaces, B2B, SaaS. If Stripe never gave you trouble and processes fine, DON'T switch — go direct with Stripe.

When Stripe is the problem, not the solution

Dropshipping category = automatic ban

Stripe Underwriting runs automatic algorithms scanning store URLs, products, descriptions. If it categorizes your store as high-risk dropshipping (supplement, uncertified beauty, Chinese gadgets, dietary), the account goes into 'under review' or gets closed. There's no appeal. Whop operates differently: openly accepts categories Stripe rejects, managing risk via reserves instead of bans.

Chargeback rate > 0.7% = lifetime ban

Stripe tolerates chargeback rate under 0.7%. For mainstream dropshipping the average rate is 1-2%. Result: even if you sell €100K/month, one spike and Stripe closes the account. Whop tolerates higher chargeback rates (up to 2-3%) with reserve adjustments instead of definitive ban.

Re-creating a Stripe account = impossible

Once banned, Stripe links your new account via device fingerprint + IP + KYC + email + phone number + credit card. Trying with fake names or VPN leads to new account bans in 1-3 months. Whop is a legitimate path: new account, different processor, different risk management.

If Stripe works for you, DON'T switch

We're honest: if Stripe accepts you, processes your volume without issues, you have low chargeback rate and low-risk category, their 1.5-2.9% fees are better than our Whop fees. Whop makes sense when Stripe is NOT an option (banned, rejected, high-risk category) or when you want a high-risk-friendly processor from day 1 to avoid the future ban risk.
